Helmsley Grantee Uptime Global’s Rural Water Project Featured in ZNBC

About 70,000 students and patients in the Mumbwa District of Zambia now have access to reliable drinking water every day, following the successful piloting of a results-based contracting model to address long-standing water supply challenges in rural schools and health facilities.

As highlighted in a recent article for the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC), following the success of this pilot, Uptime Global, with support from Helmsley, is working with the government to extend its model and bring reliable drinking water services to 1,500 schools and clinics across the Central Province of Zambia.

The article noted Helmsley Trustee Walter Panzirer’s remarks that “by delivering safe drinking water directly to schools and clinics through an accountable, results-based model, the initiative is improving both health and education outcomes.”
